About

Caleb Cuthbert grew up in Midlothian in southeastern Scotland, initially he spent a lot of his time taking photos documenting family holidays, before focusing on landscape photography.

Cells – 2012 – Scottish National Portrait Gallery (SNPGS), Edinburgh, in collaboration with the Roslin Institute. When Caleb attended Penicuik High school he participated in an art project working with the Roslin institute in collaboration with the Scottish National Portrait gallery and James Gillespie High School. Caleb’s work was presented at the Scottish national portrait gallery exhibition which ran from September 2012 till March 2013.

By the age of fifteen Caleb aspired to study photography at a higher level, and after completing his high school education he went on to study NC Photography at Edinburgh College from (2018-2019), before attending Edinburgh Napier University from (2019-2023) to study BA photography with honours.

In May 2022 Caleb’s work was shortlisted by the John Byrne Award and will exhibit his project (In Plain Sight) which focuses on the cost of living and a throwaway society, In july 2023 at a gallery in Edinburgh. (venue to be confirmed)

Caleb has been living in Edinburgh for over 5 years, in this time he has been working within the marketing industry managing the Nandos Edinburgh Team to organise activation events, using gorilla marketing to capture the attention of the city students.
